's cheryl hurd joins us in walnut creek tonight. cheryl? >> well, raj, police say that the woman was kidnapped from a parking lot in this business park and it was 7:30 last night and it was dark just like this. and no one heard her scream. >> it is very poorly lit. and i feel pretty safe living in walnut creek, but now i'm not so sure. >> reporter: cheryl feldman works in the same business park where police say two men abducted a 57-year-old woman. the attack happened on the 300 block of north widget lane. >> before she got into her car, the men accosted her, blindfolded her, and tied her you. they put her in the back seat of the car. >> reporter: the two men then drove the victim around the city for several hours, looking for atms to withdraw money. >> we know they went to a number of different locations, where the suspects did get some money from some of her banking accounts. >> reporter: after about four hours police say they drove the victim to the oakland hills near hiller highland and tunnel road. they left the victim and the car there. she was able to free herself. she wen

jose to explain why police suspect this was a homicide. janine? >> reporter: well, tori, police tell us that the woman's body was found face down and she was lying on the floor. the coroner's on the scene right now. at this point, officer are the waiting to get a warrant to search inside this home. authorities received a 911 hangup call and when officers arrived, they heard dogs barking. they called animal control to help. when police finally entered the home, that's when they found the woman's body. while a weapon has not been found, police have reason to believe that she was killed. detectives have been going door to door to see if anyone heard anything. it's unknown who made the 911 call but officers say it did come from the home where the body was found. >> we attempted to call back to confirm there was a prob or determine if there was a problem occur -- problem or determine if there was a problem occurring because on the call there were no voices. >> reporter: police say a married couple in their 50s live inside the home. now, there was a delay in police coming to the house because

intersection i want to thank you for all of your pictures. message us on facebook or e-mail at breaking news@kron.com >> take a look get the sierras. we can see the snowfall blanketing the lake tahoe area is to bring a early ski season. >> the forecast looks great for snow this weekend. a mass of cold air is moving across donner summit and boreal mountain resort is preparing to open on saturday. they have already started snowmaking operations. the national weather service is predicting between four and to 9 in. of snowfall through tomorrow. if that does happen cough boreal will welcome guests. skiing and snowboarding started back on october 26th but all that had to stop on halloween because to is just to warm and. this weekend is veterans day weekend and they're expecting a big crowd. this is usually considered early because ski resorts usually open the around thanksgiving and by tomorrow, the resorts will know for sure weather there will be open on saturday but there will tell us if that does not work there will surely be open on sunday. they are hoping for a great season with lots of snow.

's victims. that is painting with a very broad brush, but it's something that encourages us to take action. i think in my prosecutors office there is hard and soft power. the hard power in a prosecutor's office, in a police department, it's arresting. it's putting in jail. it's going in court and find this person guilty and punish them. that's a kind of hard power and most of what is done in a prosecutor's office -- most of the resources are devoted to those hard power tasks, but although we devote less resources to soft power there are probably more important and soft power is where you change the hearts and minds of people. where you try to change cultures, try to change the norms in the community are and certainly in our office we devote significant resources to this. just a couple of examples. we have something called the parent project, and i am very grateful in a time of really reduced funding our board of supervisors stepped up and provided funding for otherwise what was run on a shoe string out of our office, and it's a program that teaches parents to be better parents and pa
